The following are some notes from the pre-show countdown show...
-Jeremy Borash and Shane Douglas hype up the event. Borash notes you aren't going to believe who you will see here tonight after seeing some of the guys in the back.
-Traci is shown backstage with Larry Zbyszko. She asked him about the rumors going around of whom is coming into TNA, and she knows it must be hectic for management. Larry says they aren't rumors, they are reality, but TNA has some of the best talent already right here in TNA. Traci mentions that Raven wants his match to be a "Raven's Rules" match. Larry grants the request.
-Cassidy Riley vs. Jerrelle Clark
The match went to a No Contest as Monty Brown ran out and attacked Jerrelle Clark and the ref called for the bell. Brown then confronted Cassidy Riley, who continued to emulate Raven. Brown then gave him The Pounce. Brown says he will not sit on the backburner anymore. He says TNA is his serengeti. He's tired of waiting for 2 years. He wants what he deserves. He officially challenges the winner of Raven vs. Rhino for an NWA Heavyweight Title match at Bound For Glory in October on PPV. Jeff Jarrett's theme music then comes on, and Jarrett comes out (dressed in his ring gear even though he is not scheduled for a match tonight, Tenay notes). Jarrett says he hopes he didn't just hear what he think he did. Jarrett says Brown saw him getting dressed backstage and knew he was coming out here. Jarrett says this is his ring, but Brown says he does whatever he wants to do. Jarrett mentions there are more wrestlers backstage tonight looking for a job than TNA has employed. Jarrett says they are here to take their jobs. Jarrett says Brown is standing in this ring and he is a star because of him. Jarrett says he is serious when he thinks they have a problem. Brown says he is right that he brought him to the dance but then he took care of business on his own. Brown takes off his shirt to get ready to fight and says he's right they have a problem. Kip James runs out to side with Jarrett. Jarrett says he came here for one reason tonight. He says they say possession is 9/10s of the law, and he says on October 1st he will have possession of the NWA World title. He says he is the only one on the roster that deserves to be the champion. Jeff Hardy's theme then comes on as he comes down the ramp. Hardy and Jarrett fight in the ring, as James and Brown have left. They continue to fight around ringside and over to the announce position. They fight back into the ring with Jarrett on the offensive. Jarrett goes to give Hardy the Stroke on to a steel chair. Hardy reverses that into a DDT on Jarrett into the chair. James pulls Jarrett out of the ring and they leave.

-Traci interviews AJ Styles backstage about his match tonight. AJ talks about his opponents Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe and gives them their due credit. He says 3 years ago when TNA burst onto the scene, there was one man that stood above everyone else and represented the new wave. He says on October 1st there will be one man that continues to be Phenomenal.
-Mikey Batts vs. Shark Boy.
It's a hot crowd as usual at the Impact Zone tonight. Shark Boy won with the Dead Sea Drop.
-Borash and West are in the middle of the crowd giving their last sell for the PPV. They run down the matches on the card.

Diamonds in the Rough (Simon Diamond, Elix Skipper & David Young) vs. 3 Live Kru (Konnan, Ron Killings & BG James)
Before the match, Konnan notes on the mic to BG James that he is sorry that he doubted him for a while. He says now the 3LK can do what they do. Konnan and James do their usual prematch spiel on the mic. James and Skipper start things off. Skipper takes James down with a kick right away. Skipper works over James with some stomps and a right forearm shot. James ducks a clothesline and comes back with some punches. James gives Skipper a knee drop for a 2 count. Young is tagged in. He gets poked in the eyes by James. James tags in Killings.
Killings and James give him a double back elbow, then go to town on him with some stomps. Killings puts Young in an arm bar and then tags James back in. James takes Simon Diamon out with a boot as he tries to run in. Diamond then gets mad at Elix Skipper and slaps him. Skipper comes in the ring with a enziguiri. Skipper stomps away at James before tagging Diamond in. Diamond gives James a back elbow and gets a near fall. Young is tagged in. Young works over James, before they collide in mid ring head first sending both men down. Eventually, Konnan is tagged in. Konnan takes out Skipper and Diamond. James and Skipper fight to the outside. Konnan takes off his shoe. He gives a clothesline to Diamond and then throws the shoe at Young. Konnan gives Young the K Factor facebuster and gets the pinfall.

Austin Aries vs. Roderick Strong
Tenay notes this match is an indication of how much TNA management listens to their fans. Aries takes teh early advantage. West notes they are stable mates in ROH. Strong eventually gains advntage with a firemans carry toss and an armbar. Aries comes back with a side headlock takeover. Strong counters with a head scissors. Aries comes back with a drop kick and a side headlock on the mat. Strong fights to his feet, but receives a shoulder block off the ropes from Aries. Aries goes for a suplex, but gets taken down by Strong. They then dodge each others move and reach a stand still. Strong works over Aries with right hands. Aries goes for a monkey flip, but Strong counters it. Strong gives Aries a backbreaker, then brutally tosses Aries into the turnbuckle from mid ring. Near fall.
Strong continues to work ove rAries with some stomps. Strong gives Aries another backbreaker. Near fall. Strong sends Aries into the corner with a hard irish whip. Strong then puts Aries into a submission wrenching back on the arm and neck. Strong rolls up Aries a couple times getting some near falls. Strong puts on a chin lock submission. Aries fights back. Aries comes off the ropes but receives a drop kick from Strong. Near fall. Strong gives Aries a loud chop oin the corner. Aries fights back with a forearm shot. They exchange chops and forearm shots. Aries comes off the ropes with a big clothesline. He nails it again. Aries with a back elbow. Near fall. Aries with some brutal elbow shots. Aries snaps Strong's neck over the top rope. Aries slingshots over the top rope into the ring on to Strong for a splash. Aries goes for a suplex but Strong blocks. Strong with a modified suplex into a backbreaker. Strong puts him into a fireman's carry and drops him across his knees. Near fall. Aries with a small package out of nowhere for a near fall. Strong quickly comes back. Strong goes for the Boston crab but Aries blocks. Strong catapults him into the turnbuckle. Aries comes back with a drop kick and a brain buster. Aries goes up top and nails a 450 splash and gets the pin. Very good match early on the show. I'd say ***1/4

Kip James & Monty Brown vs. Apolo & Lance Hoyt w/ Sonny Siaki
James and Hoyt start off. They exchange position a little befor James nails a shoulder block. Hoyt then nails a shoulder block of his own. Hoyt with a hip toss. Hoyt body slams James. James quickly rolls to the outside to gather himself. James slowly makes his way back into the ring. James with a kick to the gut and some right hands. Brown makes a blind tag. Brown and James get double clotheslined by Hoyt. Hoyt with a side slam on Brown. Apolo is tagged in. Apolo with an arm bar, but Brown escapes by raking the face. Brown with some chops in the corner. Apolo changes positions and nails some chops of his own. Apolo with a big boot followed by a clothesline. Near fall. Hoyt is tagged back in. They nail double back elbows on Brown.
Hoyt continues to work over Brown. James eventually makes a blind tag on Brown. James nails a hangman's noose neckbreaker. James with some knee drops. James tags Brown in. West notes that's the first mutual tag they have made in the match, both earlier tags were blind tags. Brown shoots Hoyt into the corner, and then runs in with a knee to the back. Brown works over Hoyt in the corner with some right and left hands. Hoyt comes back and mounts Brown in the corner for the 10 punches. Brown comes back with a backdrop suplex. He executes it a second time. He goes for a third but Hoyt backflips out to escape. Brown then slams Hoyt down to the mat. Near fall. James is tagged in. James works over Hoyt with right hands in the corner. James with an irish whip to the corner, but he then runs into a back elbow from Hoyt. Both men go for clotheslines and each connect, sending both men down to the mat.
Apolo and Brown get tagged in. Apolo takes advantage and nails a DDT on Brown. Apolo lifts Brown into the air and slams him down. James then nails the Famouser on him. Hoyt sends James down and nails a moonsault off the top on to James. Brown and Hoyt fight to the outside. Brown sends Hoyt into the ringpost and climbs back into the ring. Brown holds Apolo, and James comes in with a big boot, but Apolo moves and he nails Brown. James turns around into a superkick from Apolo. Brown comes back in the ring and fights with Apolo. Brown nails the Pounce on Apolo. He makes the cover and gets the pinfall.

-Tenay talks about the miscommunication between James and Brown as they talk with each other arguing on the way to the back.
-Traci interviews Team Canada backstage. Petey Williams talks with Young and A1 about their 4 way tag team match later tonight for the tag belts. Bobby Roode comes in and tells them it is time they start pulling their own weight and do something tonight. Roode calls Hardy a halfbaked nut case and says he will Canadianize him tonight. Williams talks about his match next with Chris Sabin. He talks about how they came up together and everything, but the thing that makes them different is he has the most devastating finisher in all of pro wrestling and he's an inferior American.
Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin
Williams comes out to Abyss' theme music. He gets to the ring before they figure it out and put on the Team Canada music. The bell rings and here we go. Williams takes advantage with an arm bar before Sabin reverses it. Sabin with some quick moves and a roll up. Sabin takes Petey down with a deep arm drag. Petey throws Sabin to the outside. Petey slingshots over the tope but Sabin moves. Petey lands on his feet. Sabin takes Petey down with a modified head scissors. Sabin throws Petey back into the ring. Sabin with a springboard back elbow. Sabin sunset flips over Petey from inside ring to the outside. They fight on the outside. Petey sends Sabin into the guard rail. WrestleView's Adam Martin yells at Petey Williams from the crowd(no lie). Petey takes Sabin back into the ring. Petey works over Sabin in the corner with some right hands. Petey sets up Sabin upside down in the turnbuckle. He stands on the ropes then, planting his foot in Sabin's groin. Petey gives Sabin some forearm shots and a backbreaker. Near fall.
A chant from the crowd distracts Williams and Sabin comes back. Shortly after, Petey reverses a move and nails a DDT for a nera fall. Petey pretzels Sabin's arms in a seated position and wrenches back for a submission. Sabin fights back with some elbows, but he then walks right into a short arm clothesline from Williams for a near fall. Williams plants his shin across the neck of a fallen Sabin and applies pressure. Petey with a snap mare and a drop kick to the back of the head. Near fall. Sabin fights back with some right hands. Williams gives him some forearms and whips him into the turnbuckle. Petey comes jumping backwards off the second rope, and Sabin nails a drop kick to his back. Both men are down.
Sabin with some rapid fire forearm shots. They exchange chops. Sabin with a couple spin kicks. Sabin with a cradle suplex. Near fall. Petey goes for the canadian destroyer but it turns into more of a roll up as Sabin counters. Williams puts Sabin in the Sharpshooter in mid ring. Sabin crawls and reaches the ropes to break the hold. Sabin with a springboard DDT. Near fall. Williams counters a move and nails a side Russian legsweep. Williams with a kick to the gut. Sabin counters an invevitable Canadian Destroyer attempt. Sabin goes for a spinrboard drop kick, but Petey swats him out of the way. Petey locks on the Sharpshooter again. The hold gets broken. Petey with a whip to the turnbuckle. Petey charges in, but Sabin moves. Sabin with a running Razor's Edge maneuver, throwing Williams into the turnbuckle on the other side of the ring. Sabin goes for the Cradle Shock. Petey tries to fight it off and Sabin rams him into the turnbuckle a couple times. Petey rakes at the eyes to break up the attempt. Sabin can't see clarly and he grabs the ref and almost gives him the Cradle Shock before realizing what he was doing. Sabin then nails the Cradle Shock on Williams and gets the pinfall. Another very solid match.

-Matt Bentley runs out after the match and superkicks Sabin. Bentley gets on the mic and says a lot of people thought he was bound to head up north. He says TNA is his home, and the only place he is bound for is Bound For Glory. He says you can't have the biggest TNA PPV in history without the most innovative match in wrestling history, the match that he made famous, the Ultimate X. Bentley then superkicks Petey Williams.

Sabin can't see clarly and he grabs the ref and almost gives him the Cradle Shock before realizing what he was doing. Sabin then nails the Cradle Shock on Williams and gets the pinfall. Another very solid match.

-Matt Bentley runs out after the match and superkicks Sabin. Bentley gets on the mic and says a lot of people thought he was bound to head up north. He says TNA is his home, and the only place he is bound for is Bound For Glory. He says you can't have the biggest TNA PPV in history without the most innovative match in wrestling history, the match that he made famous, the Ultimate X. Bentley then superkicks Petey Williams.
